# Bulk instance creation

Bulk instance creation lets you start many instances of the same process at once, using data loaded into a [Flokzu Database](https://docs.flokzu.com/en/article/how-to-add-records-to-a-database-gwthq4/). Each row in the database becomes a new instance.
This is especially useful when you need to create a large batch of cases in one go — for example, onboarding a large group of new employees, loading a customer list, or migrating cases from another system.

# Enable bulk creation on the process

Before you can use it, you need to enable it on the relevant process:

1. Edit the process.
2. Go to the **Settings** tab.
3. In the **Additional settings** section, turn on the **Enable bulk creation** option.
4. Save and deploy process.

# Start a bulk load

Once the feature is enabled, go to the **Start process** menu and select the process. You'll see a new button, **Bulk create instances**, which takes you to the load configuration screen.

### Step 1: select the source database
Choose the Flokzu Database that contains the data to be loaded. Each row in that database represents a separate process instance.

### Step 2: map the columns to the form fields
For each field in the form, choose one of these three options:

* **Do not map**: the field is left empty in all instances created.
* **Database column**: the field is filled with the value from the column you specify.
* **Constant value**: the field is filled with the same fixed value across all instances.

Once the mapping is set up, you can save it as a **template** to reuse it in future bulk loads. This saves you from having to configure the mapping again each time, which is especially useful for forms with many fields.

### Step 3: review the summary and set the behavior
This screen shows a summary of the configuration so you can verify everything is correct. You can also define two behaviors:

**On errors during execution:**

* **Continue and isolate errors**: if an error is detected in a row (for example, a data type that doesn't match the expected field type), that row is marked as "not processed due to error" and the load continues with the remaining rows.
* **Stop on first error**: if an error is detected, execution stops and the remaining rows are not processed.

**When to run the load:**
* **Run now**: the load starts immediately.
* **Schedule**: pick a future date and time from a calendar.
* **Run on a recurring schedule**: define how often the load repeats (for example, every Monday at 8:00 AM).

### Step 4: validate and run
Before the load runs, you need to confirm the data by clicking **Validate**.
Once it runs, Flokzu displays a screen showing the execution progress, along with the details of successfully loaded rows and rows that had errors.

# Frequently Asked Questions

**Who can enable bulk creation on a process?** Any user with edit and deploy permissions on the process.
**Who can use bulk creation to start instances?** Any user with permission to create instances of that process, as long as the feature is enabled.
**Can I reuse a mapping I already configured?** Yes — if you saved it as a template during a previous load, you can select it directly and skip re-mapping the fields.
